My kids were unable to come and celebrate Thanksgiving with me this year. I have a hard time cooking. It was amazing that Teresa came out and had dinner made and ate with me. Holidays aren't always my favorite. It was really nice to have a good one this year.
I was worried when I was told I was getting a new company for my care. I didn't know how things were going to work out. I'm really thankful that things are actually better. I get a lot more consistent service than ever before. The staff in the office communicate with me about my needs. With my sister living so far away, I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have the help.
We needed a bit of help to keep Dad happy at his home. Since he lost Mom, he's not eating well and he has a hard time bathing. We don't make a lot of money and the costs were hard to manage. Independence Assistance helped us find applications to some Respite funding. It's made a big difference in Dad's life. He loves his Personal Assistant.
"I am not one to ask for help, and have been very independent my whole life. When I was injured and my health started to decline, I was hesitant to let someone come into my home and help me with things I was having trouble doing. It was frustrating for me, but I still wanted to be able to do all the things I used to. Independence Assistance has helped me continue living my life, while making sure my home is clean, safe and the I feel secure. They listen to my requests and adapt their help and care to my needs. I am a very private person, but I feel very comfortable with my caregiver and I enjoy talking with her. They truly care and always make sure that I am satisfied with what they've helped me with each day. They've improved my day to day life, from helping me get out more often to accomplishing the little things I was able to do on my own before."
